What is Lead Generation?

Lead generation is the means of generating interest in a company’s brand, products, or services using inbound and outbound marketing approaches, like online promotion and email marketing. And, honestly, this is a powerful means for B2B (business-to-business) and B2C (business-to-consumer) concerns.

A lead is considered a customer, so if you have a restaurant out there. You are getting some to come in and place an order or like a takeout.  If you have a roofing contractor out there, it would be getting a new roof install. That is what lead generation is, and this business model around it is what you do as someone who owns a lead generation business. Your job is to generate them more leads to get more customer and lead to get more customer. So they will pay you to do it.


Let me explain a short situation,

I opened up my email, checked my inbox, and found mail from a company named Apple. Open it up; it’s all about a new model launched by Apple. I can read a bit more about the new phone, new features, new benefits and here is the most important part  -  I can see a big blue button that says BUY.  So after clicking on the page, it opens up to a landing page where I can buy a new Apple phone. So now the question is, why I got the mail? I am on the list somewhere. Apple has me on the list that says I should receive this type of email.

It makes me a lead, and obviously, I am a quality lead because I am the type of person who buys an Apple phone as I’ve purchased one in the past. Even though I’m not going to buy one now, I might buy one in the future, and there’s going to be other people on that just like me that actually could buy one now. So naturally, If Apple plays its cards, they can turn leads, people like me, into money. So You can see how tips work and why it is beneficial to a business. So, by utilizing the proper channels PPC, Social media, blog, website traffic, you can attract the correct type of person that wants to capture their information. You can use the other channels, email, promotions, whatever it may be, and turn those leads to paying customers.
